We've already taken a look at some of these pictures in book that I've brought to rehearsals. But here they are in color! Besides, i felt that our blog needed pictures of some sort.
These pics are taken from the 2001 production of the play at the New York Theatre Workshop, directed by Erin Mee. Harold and Edith were played by Frederick Neumann and Ruth Maleczech, respectively. The photographs are taken from Charles Mee's website.

After looking at the set design for the NY version and having seen other versions, it is interesting that each designer either incorporated astroturf to create the indoor/outdoor feel or clouds to tap into the "world of Magritte." I'm glad that I waited to look at these examples until after we made most of our decisions, as we came to use clouds and astroturf independently and in different ways.
